Reader Reviews:A boisterous bounce through a windy park with strong rhythm and sparkling rhyme (3/3 people found this helpful)This is a lovely Hairy Maclary story, with a whole lot of rollicking rhythm, good rhyme, delightfully long words and off-beat vocabulary, and a lightly humorous story. Hairy MacLary is playing with a Frisbee/skimmer with Miss Plum on a windy day and there's a windswept wedding in the bandstand. Grandmother Pugh can't keep hold of her wedding hat (.... a riot of ribbon and lace, roses and feathers that tickle her face) and it blows away. Hairy Maclary stops chasing the skimmer and follows the hat instead right to the edge of the pond. He brings it back, a little worse for wear. Fabulous frolicking fun.
