Purchased as a present for my 2 year old grand daughter, it has been a great success. Excellent for children at that stage of language development, where repetition and rhyme are so important and such fun! Robust board construction means it will withstand the rough treatment toddlers dish out too.

I started to buy the Hairy Maclary books for my grandchildren a few years ago, at first because he looked like my dog, Hairy Maclary stays the same my dog is looking a bit older now but still sometimes behaves like him, yesterday she jumped in a river and I thought we might need Zachery Quack's assistance.
The grandchildren and I enjoy all the stories, Hairy Maclary and Zachary Quack (Hairy Maclary and Friends) is a lovely book about an annoying little duck who becomes Hairy Maclary's friend after helping him.

This is my favourite of all Lynley Dodd's wonderful books.Its gentle and warm and funny and kind.It shows that no matter how small you are you can help a friend in need.And that the most unlikely friends can find themselves 'tucked up together!'
