Another lovely board book version of this classic for children. With another in the series, it was a very successful and subsequently much loved present for my 2 year old grand daughter - the rhymes and repetition are excellent for her stage of language development, and it is such fun to share with her. Sturdy board construction a plus too.

I purchased this for my 7 month old daughter. She is a little young to appreciate the surprise, but loves the cadences of the rhyme when read aloud and helps with the page turning. I have also bought for friends' babies who love it too.

As this was described as "read by David Tennant" I was expecting an item with a DVD or cassette, which I then had to purchase from a book shop so that the child who had requested it for Christmas was not disappointed. Also if the miniature size of the book had been detailed I would not have bought it.

This is a really enjoyable book (for some reason my husband decided that each of the different dogs should be introduced in a different voice which has made reading it more of a challenge!) but the story is a little repetitive and, for me, not as engaging as Slinky Malinki. Our daughter adores it and the illustrations are lovely.
