Perfection in motion (3/3 people found this helpful)

I have read alot of books on special forces from Andy McNabb to Duncan Falconer, Geddes impressed me the most due to the fact that he didn't even talk about his time in the SAS like most operators do, but about his work as a private military contractor, he did tend to go off the subject a bit some times but I guess he was trying to give his story some historical context. I also enjoyed how he had other fellow PMCs tell their stories such as the 'Baghdad babes' to 'tak'. Furthermore I was rolling around laughing my lungs out at some of his expressions.
Lastly he makes a very strong and interesting point for PMCS taking up the roll for the United Nations of stopping genocides in places such as Rwanda due to the inemptidude of UN troops who to be blunt are bloody useless. So bravo to John Geddes!!! My hat goes off to you. A well deserved 5 stars.

Excellent book, full of suspance! I wanted to get more info about the world of PMC and this book took the curtains away. Very well written, I couldn't stop reading.
Strongly recommended if you want to know a lot more on the security situation in Iraq.

DONT DISMISS THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!! (3/11 people found this helpful)

What an increadible read. Wow!. I am training for the paras and whilst bending my eyes over countless books, HIGHWAY TO HELL blazed out like a sore thumb. It had a review from an ex SAS man, Mike Curtis (who wrote C.Q.B -Also a phenominal read) and it explains how he fought along side Geddes in the Falklands then Selection together, and later on into Private Security work. So i eagerly baught and read the whole thing in one day. It had grabbed my by the lapels of my shirt and would not let me put it down.
From the increadible first few pages where Geddes is in a 4X4 with his driver and friend Ahmed protecting a News Crew when Geddes notices a Black BMW 7 series follow up behind him rather quickly then the passengers harras him, sticking an AK-47 out of the window and putting holes in the bonnet of the 4X4. But Mr. Geddes has a Toy lying on his lap waiting to put holes in them. TRUST ME, THIS IS NOT JUST SOME EGO INFLATED ONLY USEFUL AS AN ARSE WIPE NOVEL, IT IS PURE BRILLIANCE.

Its only 240 pages which is perfect because its just total perfection. Jammed with tons of action, scary "bumped" moments (been reading too many Forces Bios i think lol) and Humour and oooooh! a guest appearance of MIKE CURTIS, a fellow SAS bloke who also has an epic bio. I ATE, SLEPT, SAT ON THE BOG, ALMOST SHOWERED WITH THIS BOOK, I COULDNT PUT IT DOWN. GET IT, GET IT, GET IT, GET IT, GET IT, GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
