This book is full of supportive and positive advice. As with all books written by Paul Mckenna; on every page there is a message to share with others towards improving the quality of their lives.

A book that I will refer to time and time again. I usually lend books out for friends to read, but this one along with 'SACRED SPACE' by Elizabeth Bailey, I will be definately keeping for myself.

I highly recommend anyone to read this book for themselves. All of Paul Mckennas books give people the awareness of the choice of adding quality to their lives - and what could be better advice than that!

It works but you need commitment and willpower (4/4 people found this helpful)

I have been doing this programme for 9 weeks now and I have lost 12lbs, I think he's completely right, this is what thin people do, they eat when they're hungry and stop when they're full. I have been trying so hard to stick to the principles - you do need willpower as well - of course you do, when if like me, you've always eaten things, whether you're hungry or not, you can't change overnight, but persevere, I think you can overcome some cravings using his techniques, but I have found these wear off, and I physically don't have time to keep doing the visualisation stuff, but I can say it has definitely changed the way I think about food, and am managing not to be a member of the clean plate club most of the time now. When you are sticking to the programme it's amazing how little you eat, and that alone has taught me something. There's a 90 day journal out which is good as well, if I start going off track I fill that in for 5 days or so to remind me of the principals. But for once I am not counting the minutes til the next meal time, I'm not counting points or calories and I don't feel like I am on a diet, but I feel normal and I am losing weight. The books a good buy even if you can't stick with it for long it might just change the way you think about food a little bit, and I think that's worth a few quid.

Eat as much as you like, when you like, and yet lose weight? The way in which this is true is that Paul gets you to change your mindset - being happy with only one biscuit instead of wanting to finish the packet, or with a normal dinner instead of having a football-sized portion.
My husband has never had weight problems: he won't eat if he's not hungry, he leaves food on his plate when he's had enough, and he's content with just ONE square of chocolate. This is what Paul will train you to be like, IF you are prepared to follow his instructions 100%. It's not difficult, it makes briliant sense, but it requires your complete co-operation. It is possible for him to re-educate you.

I listened to Paul's Fear of Flying CD twice, and my claustrophobia/panic disappeared so that now flying for me is now like sitting on a bus. Weight loss won't be as easy, but Paul is a clever bloke, and his methods work.

Just one little niggle - why did he have to use some Americanisms in this book, such as elevator instead of lift? Oh alright, you don't have to be Kate Moss to know that his biggest potential market (in both senses) is over the Pond. Don't let this put you off, it's not so intrusive that it spoils reading it, but I just wish he hadn't.

Buy this book, follow its rules, and you will lose weight and acquire healthy habits for life.

I have used this programe since June last year and have lost three stone. I have changed my way of eating, its not a diet there are no restrictions and for the first time in my life I have control of my food and not the other way round.

Most of us eat food without thinking, maybe as a reward, to abate stress, when bored, when happy, when sad, when watching the tv etc whatever your reason this system breaks the habit.

I enjoy my food now more than ever, enjoy the taste more and have kept my weight off for nine months without thinking or depriving myself of anything. Yes I have lost weight before but could never get that I will diet tomorrow thought out of my head or that chocolate was naughty I could never get past the guilt of enjoying food and feeling embarassed by my size and what everyone must think of me being so fat that I will start tomorrow after a bad day turned into a massive binge. I have lost and gained more back with every "diet" I have followed.

I am not that person anymore, I am the person who I should have always been slimmer and in control with a confidence that has no limits.

My advice would be try it whats the worst that can happen to you?

Didn't Happen for Me. (2/3 people found this helpful)

I'm afraid this didn't work for me. I couldn't take the CD seriously. However after a couple of months I used Lose Weight Now - by Glenn Harrold a similar CD. After 4 months I have lost 2.5 stones! It has been virtually effortless. So maybe Paul McKenna will work for you because he clearly has done for some, it might be just a question of finding the right voice to "tune into".
