Reader Reviews:A suspensful diary of a Jewish Girl during WW2 (0/0 people found this helpful)This book is the story of a young Jewess who has escaped from a Death March in Germany towards the end of the Second World War.On finding a little notebook she decided to write a diary of everything that was happening to her from the moment of escape to the end of the war.Sasha of the title was her first husband whom she married just before the war.They were both very young and very much in love when they were sent to concentration camps.Sadly,they were separated.Ever since then Hana was living in hope that one day they would be re-united.As she started writing her diary and day to day accounts,it was with Sasha in mind.Her love for him,her hopes,adventures and travels east to meet up with the Russian army are vividly expressed on evey page.It is a very suspensful book written with deep feelings.You are travelling with her on that lonely dangerous journey,hoping with her that she will eventually reach her goal and meet up with Sasha and her ordeal will eventually be over and she will be able to get home to her native Prague.
