A book worth reading (0/0 people found this helpful)

A superb book .I read it in 2 days , could not put it down.Intrigued to learn the facts on the ground from the people who knows the country , as opposed to the news we've had here.Well done.

This book is must for every memebr of Global politics (0/0 people found this helpful)

This is the kind of information essential for anyone who wants to have a clear idea of what is going on in Iraq .The author has had a rare oppurtunity to visit insurgency stricken regions of Iraq, and he helps teh reader understand the comlexity of teh situationin Iraq.Zaki Chehab's book is no piece of simple minded propganda. It is written in in a style that will inform rather than antagonisethe reader.Any one who fails to read this book deserves to flunk a course in global geopliticsand ounterinsurgency tactics and strategy.

Inside the Resistance (0/1 people found this helpful)

This book is essential read for anyone who wants to understand what is going on in Iraq and what the insurgency really is and why it happens. We seem to see a very one sided view from the TV journalists based in Iraq. I found the account from Zaki Chehab very revealing as he actually spent time in the country and amongst the ordinary people from all walks of life as well as getting intellegence from those with links to insurgents. Speaking the language and understanding the culture means that we as readers could also begin to understand what is really going on and how the ordinary people are affected by the actions of American and coalition forces.
I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is disillusioned by what is happening in the area and wants a better understanding.
