A fascinating history of the birth and development of the SETI project from the one man to have been involved all along. The book now needs updating to cover progress over the last ten years, including mention of the help we can all give by using the SETI screensaver... The book covers the involvement of a myriad of world renowned scientists.
The only shortcoming is Franks total avoidance in discussing the reality of UFO’s and the fact that they are already here and that long distance communication is still to be achieved.
This is not only a book for the UFOlogist but anyone interested in humanity

although difficult to come by, this book had me hooked from page one. Frank Drakes personal review on the history of the search for extraterrestrial intelligence leaves no stones unturned. Frank Drake was an active member in most of the efforts so far in the search. and he documents all his experiences in this book. a good read for anyone interested in the age old question, Are We Alone?
