Does what it says on the tin (0/0 people found this helpful)

From late middle-aged overeater to enthusiastic food shopper, hunting fresh produce - in the space of one day. That's how long it took after buying this down-to-earth cookbook. You've cracked it, Jamie - bringing food pleasure to ordinary people like me. The recipes really work, are easy to make and delicious. And I'm losing weight too.. Thank you Jamie from the bottom of my heart.

This is a great book not just for people unable to cook. Its also great for those mum's racking their brains for something new to cook mid week.

We have, like many families, amassed a great number of cookery books of varying qualities. However I enthusiastically endorse this book from Jamie Oliver. The recipies are easy and they are delicious. A cracking book!!

I bought this book for a present for my Sister and she's delighted with it.
Great recipes she reports and when added to the rest of her collection of Jamie Oliver's Books she says she has plenty to choose from.

Fantastic selection (0/0 people found this helpful)

So many recipe books seem just to be voyeuristic textual versions of TV programmes, that at the end of the day, just don't result in giving me the basics that I need. I compare the "Ministry of Food" to my copy of "The Complete Farmhouse Kitchen Cookbook", which is a compilation of recipes that were broadcast on the Yorkshire Television programme, "Farmhouse Kitchen". Completely different, yet similar in that they both actually TEACH YOU TO COOK and simply!! I wish there were more books like this that actually get to the nuts and bolts of cooking, and are just not pretentious compilations of recipes that just won't be tackled on a day-to-day basis. Along with my Delia war-horse, these 3 books are the most used in my household. Bring more on like this please.
