Editorial Review:20% OFF! Whilst Stocks Last! This book is very close to my heart. It's about no-nonsense, simple cooking with great flavours all year round. When I began writing it, I didn't really know what recipes I would come up with, but something began to inspire me very quickly... my vegetable patch! I came to realise last year that it's not always about looking out at the wider world for inspiration. Being at home, feeling relaxed and open, can also offer this. I love to spend time at home in the village where I grew up, working with the boss, Mother Nature, in my garden and seeing all my beautiful veggies coming out of the ground. Inside, you'll find over 100 new recipes, plus some basic planting information and tips if you fancy having a go at getting your hands dirty as well! The fabulous new cookbook from the international bestseller ties in with his new Channel 4 series about no-nonsense, simple cooking inspired by growing your own vegetables. Reader Reviews:Jamie at Home: Cook your way to the Good Life. (0/0 people found this helpful)FANTASTIC - get this book and the dvd set and it is all you will ever need. Good healthy food - everyday ingredients - readily available if you cannot manage to grow your own - do try it is worth it - FANTASTIC - 12 stars. A book to treasure (1/2 people found this helpful)Jamie Oliver has excelled himself in this beautiful book. It's more than just recipes and photographs of the finished dishes, I was totally immersed in Jamie's world from start to finish. As a cookery book it's first class, but it's so much more besides. Jamie at Home (11/14 people found this helpful)'Jamie At Home' has a great collection of recipes from the television series and is presented in an attractive and accessible way. The book is divided into the four seasons and focuses on different ingredients, from asparagus to eggs. It has growing tips for your own vegetable patch and manages to combine garden advice and cookery advice with equal skill, whilst being enjoyable to read. One thing I liked was the more natural descriptions for the recipes, instead of prescribing an exact amount of oil (for example 20ml) he just says 'two big glugs', this is reminiscent of the TV series, as well as making each recipe individual to the person cooking it. After all, that is what cooking is about, providing great food in a personal way. This book goes a long way to helping you achieve that and is a great place to find some tasty and inspiring recipes. Well worth a buy if you're a fan of the series or not. Wondeful! (5/8 people found this helpful)This is a gorgeous book, Jamie is an inspiring innovative chef, and he translates this to us laymen (no matter how gifted or challenged!) very well. His passion for fresh delicious food shines from every page. And his gardening tips - whether or not he has masses of help, are very straightforward, no nonsense and work! He takes the mythology out, and helps us create amazing food, cheaply, easily and conveniently. That is wizardry. Thanks Jamie! As with the accompanying television series, suffer the tidal wave of blokey joviality in order to experience some decent recipes.
