Better than Tuttles Kanji flash cards kit. (3/3 people found this helpful)

I highly recommend this product as it is a White Rabbit Press release which is well-known for high quality study guides especially the flash cards.

Wut's good about this set is that it forces you to learn to read and/speak the kanji which has 6 useful examples when used in a compound or a phrase. Providing, that is you have at least memorised the kana [relatively with hiragana]. There's also NO romaji whatsoever which might be frustrating at first but it does help you use what kana characters you have remembered and to actually use them. It's harsh but it keeps you constantly mentally accessing the kana.

Another thing is the layout. The design serves well as on one side it features the kanji itself and the stroke order and the 6 examples of its use. On the back is where the kana equivalent of the 6 examples and the english meaning and the kun

Struggling with kanji retention? This is your box of magic! (1/1 people found this helpful)

The cards are very high quality and durable. They include something for all styles of learners - whether you want to just be able to read the characters, expand your vocab, understand stroke order - the white rabbit press flashcards are the best on the market.

They're very well thought out and using Leitner method (google it!) will help you keep the cards to hand for the kanji that you're struggling most with. The vocab is also simultaneously entertaining and useful (cultural relevance, JLPT vocab.. it's all on the cards!). Repetitive use of the cards tends to stick the compounds and vocab in your head whether you want them there or not!

Look out for the vol. 2 and (hopefully) soon to be released vol. 3 - it'll blow your mind when you look in the box. It's terrifying seeing that many cards, but they really offer a fantastic tool to learning that you can break down into any chunk you find digestible.

Great for anyone studing Kanji (1/1 people found this helpful)

I've been studying Japanese for a while now, and decided to buy some kanji flashcards since the amount of kanji I knew was sorely lacking! I was going to go for the Tuttle Kanji Cards which I kept seeing everywhere, but I'm glad I discovered these instead.

The great thing about them is that there's no romaji, (romanised japanese) which most Japanese students will tell you, is like 'cheating' or taking a step backwards. The stroke order and look-alike kanji are also very helpful. The cards are about the size of a normal playing card, and arn't thin and cheaply made, which is good if you're going to use them alot.

Even if you're not taking the JLPT exams, I would still recommend these as they are still all kanji that you will need to know.

Best Japanese kanji cards on the planet! (2/2 people found this helpful)

I'm a beginning learner of the Japanese language and, simply put, these cards are absolutely great! High quality, laminated, nice size, and so many cool features it's hard to know where to begin describing them. No romanji! Look alike kanji! Many sample words! They are really great! Other sets I've seen in stores are flimsy, romanji filled, and just struck me as cheap. These cards are high quality and a delight to use. I eagerly await volume II!
