Reader Reviews:Good for a begginer but not enough depth for anyone else (0/0 people found this helpful)I liked this book myself as I found it very easy to read and understand. This gives you the basics in how to construct java servlets. It does not go into enough detail in session management. I would recommend this book for someone who is intrested in understanding the concepts but for coders wanting to write a decent application there is not enough content here to merit a purchase. This book was far too shallow. (0/0 people found this helpful)The author obviously knows what he is talking about. However, he is quite inept at explaining to his reader what he is doing. In fact, he rarely tries. He just has sample code, helps you set up the java webserver, then has you run the code. It is more about webserver configuration than it is about servlet programming A waste of money... (0/0 people found this helpful)There simply isnt enough meat in this book. If you are looking for a quick overview then this will probably help. But if you are after in depth info on Servlets, you had better look elsewhere... 100 Times Better Than Jason Hunter's book... (0/0 people found this helpful)This is a great book on Servlets. I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews on this book. It teaches you the basics and goes beyond the API docs. If you want a thorough walkthrough of the Java Servlet FAQ, then go grab the book by Jason Hunter :-). Just not enough information. (0/0 people found this helpful)Nice pictures but if only they gave more in depth explanations to go with it. This book is for managers or people just interested in java servlets than actually writing code. It is of no use for programmers. You can't use it as a reference because there just isn't enough information to go by. Get Jason Hunter's book. Its excellent! CategoriesAmazon.co.uk places this book into the following categories:
