Charming, different interpretation of the nativity ideal for very young children to get some idea of what Christmas is about - without having to go into detail that they may not understand.

Cartoon style story of the nativity. Excellent drawings. Makes more conventional renditions pale by comparison. Let me quote Joanne Schott of Quill & Quire: "...cartoons that achieve a wide range of expression with great economy. .... The humour is gentle and, though the approach is in every way unconventional, the book has a sense both of wonder and of joy sometimes missing from more customary interpretations."

This book is one of the real highlights of our Christmas reading. It looks at Christmas from the inn keeper's view. Although this is pure speculation, it is very funny. It has become one of our party pieces for Christmas, with the girls playing the part of inn keepers. This is a must for children from 2 to 80.
