Manna from heaven for the true Chalet fan (9/11 people found this helpful)
Caroline German: I thank you! You have provided a real, comfortable delight of a book that whisks me right back to my girlhood some thirty five years past when I first read the Tyrolean Chalet books. This delightful tale could have tripped from the pen of EBD herself. Apart from three anchronistic expressions (and I can't even remember what they were now) this, to me, was so faithful to Elinor Brent-Dyer's Tyrolean Chalet titles. The growth of Juliet from wayward oddity (and who could blame her following her upbringing and tragic orphandom?) to splendid Head Girl was very well drawn, and a few loose threads like Robin's delicacy and 'Bill's' character development were tied up good and proper. I particularly liked the Eva and Dorota thread, a true honest to goodness Chalet School mystery.
Thank you so much, Caroline. Isn't life unfair, though, that God has given you scientific skills (a PhD) AND the ability to write a la EBD?! Never mind: your book is a delight.
