Reader Reviews:Buy this book! (14/15 people found this helpful)Don't even attempt to survive a History PGCE without this book. It has already become a classic and doubtless features on every reading list in the country, but if possible get your own copy so that you can read and re-read it at your leisure (of which there isn't much on a PGCE course!). The authors cover each of the National Curriculum Key Elements, as well as issues which dominate inspection worries, such as assessment and the use of ICT. Throughout there is a helpful mixture of advice, principle and example activities. There is also an excellent chapter on getting a job and continuing to improve your teaching skills.
