Reader Reviews:Concise, readable accurate. (4/4 people found this helpful)As a non-arabic speaking person of Lebanese ancestry, Lebanese history and politics hold many mysteries. Among other hindrances to understanding are the dearth of good quality english or transalted documents about Lebanon and the complexity of the narrative. The author captures the essence of the groups she discusses and hits many interesting high (low) points of the history and relevant mythology of teh country. I would recommend this book to anyone: seasoned Lebanon hand or merely curious bystander. The writing is crisp, engaging and makes as light work as possible fo the excrutiatingly complex story. Oh yes and long live Lebanon!
