Reader Reviews:A guided tour of Da Vinci' s deepest thoughts (3/4 people found this helpful)In the light of the evolution of art since Da Vinci's day some of his comments may seem to be verging on the ridiculous, for example, "the most praiseworthy form of painting is that which most resmbles what it imitates"; try telling that to Francis Bacon! Joking aside however, this book is essential to anyone desiring to truly understand the principles surrounding the production of a masterpiece. It gives an insight into the great mans mind, revealing his passion for his subject and cannot fail to inspire such in others.
