Being born in NZ I have always had a fascination with their culture and language. The last time I visited there I purchased this book.
It is very clearly written and brings you into the language you find yourself understanding it before you know it! Not quite - but a very good book.
Something to note though: this book does have a cassette that is meant to accompany it and I think it would be well worth trying to find a copy of it as Maori can sometimes be complicated to pronounce!
