Excellent and heart touching book. (0/0 people found this helpful)

A man goes through life trying to figure out what he wants from the past. In the end he finds out it is not neccessary to stay and live in the past, but in the future and present.

I read it in Two Days (0/0 people found this helpful)

This book cannot be put down for a second! I had already read Timepiece and seen the Christmas Box on TV and I was looking forward to reading "The Letter", and I wasn't disappointed.

I knew how it was going to end, though, knowing the other two books. I loved this book. I plan on reading "The Locket" too because I love the characters in this series. It is a must read!

A VERY BEAUTIFUL & SATISFYING BOOK (1/1 people found this helpful)

This is one of the best books ever written. It was an upliftment & encouragement. David Parkin is a good example (of a husband, father, man, friend, employer, & person) that more people need to follow. We could use more people like him. I hope heaven is filled with people like him, rather than churchy, selfish, judgmental people. Don't get me wrong - church is good & essential. But I'd rather have people like him in heaven with me. I love David Parkin. The only thing that saddens me is that he is only fictional. But perhaps Richard Paul Evans is the same type of man that David Parkin is - and Richard's real! This is truly one of the most beautiful books I have ever read. I have read all three books in the series in the correct order, and this final book is the best. I just cannot say how beautiful & lovely it is. God must have been holding Richard's hand as he wrote it.

A truly moving account of life and love. (0/0 people found this helpful)

We can all benefit and relate to the story of Mary Anne and David Parkin's love, for we have all been there before. In this final book in "The Christmas Box" trilogy, we are taken once again into David Parkin's world. The characters are ghostly and almost mystical in nature. The lost child Andrea looms like a magical spectre over the story, while David and Mary Anne must continue to face life after loss. This novel reminds us all that we are far from perfect in dealing with tragedy, and it teaches us all that life is the only statement we ever make. I did find that David and Mary Anne's obsession over their dead daughter was unhealthy at best, but Richard Paul Evans does his writer's best in trying to illuminate their struggle, and their eventual quasi-victory over their terrible loss. I was left with the impression that these were very sad people, and I only wish the author could have uplifted the story a bit more. A beautiful story, but depressing nonetheless.
