Reader Reviews:Less about WiFi than you'd think (6/7 people found this helpful)This book contains a fair bit of stuffing about things like GPS (like as much material on how the GPS system works as how to use one on your Linux system), how radio waves work / propagate, GPRS, etc.. As with all dead-tree products, it's behind on essential information to work with hardware you buy in the shops today. For example, the wireless cards I just bought are Prism 2.5 chipset. Not covered in this book. You're only slightly better off with this book (which has pretty pictures, at least) than the Linux HOWTO's on wireless networking.
