Reader Reviews:Start here (0/0 people found this helpful)Originally I wanted to study rocket science. Then I decided I needed something more challenging, so I got Logic 5 (Big Box version) which came with a plethora of manuals. I wish this book had been around then. Logic 7 is much easier to handle than previous versions and it is worth persevering with. This book is a first rate guide to it, and includes a DVD with lessons and examples. (BTW, the Apple website also hosts an excellent users' support group.) Well structured, essential for those moving from other packages. (3/3 people found this helpful)I recently moved to Logic Express from Cakewalk Sonar when I purchased my Macbook Pro. This book has been essential to fully understand the windows, environment, workflow, tips and tricks in using Logic. I found the program less than intuitive in its layout and workflow compared to Sonar, but after a few tutorials with this book I am now much happier that I know my way around. There is a lot of depth to Logic that can remain hidden to new users without a guide like this. It is well written, well structured and well paced. Highly recommended. The best place to start getting the most out of Logic 7 (5/5 people found this helpful)When faced with the manual that comes with Logic Pro 7 you would be forgiven for feeling more than a little lost. Logic is an incredible peice of software and of course it is going to take a while before you even scratch the surface of what it can do, but does it have to be so difficult? Thankfully no. This book takes you by the hand and starts from the beginning, using simple language and progressing in easy to manage steps. Whether you are a complete beginner or have been fiddling with Logic for years this should be essential reading. By the end of the book you will have grasped the fundamentals and will be ready to take the next step onto the advanced book.
Reviewed by a Logic Express user (17/17 people found this helpful)I bought Logic Express 7 as a step up from GarageBand and decided to buy this book after starting a new Logic Express song and finding I couldn't get a sound out of it -- plus I wanted something to guide me through Logic's features to make sure I was getting the most out of it.
