Gash has produced a well written clear and concise account of the Life of Lord Liverpool. From childhood to premiership Gash's work is interesting and well written. Sympathetically written, Gash guides us masterfully through the problems faced by this long serving primeminister- from trying to get married and the intervention of the king to working in threee major offices at once during the Napoleonic wars Gash provides insight and detail where there was none. Using documents and secondary sources Gash's work is worth having. A fascinating biography.
