Reader Reviews:Excellent (0/0 people found this helpful)I bought this book on a whim because of a website's recommendation. Before reading, I had never heard of Hacker, but by the time I had read half of the book, I was addicted. Love, Death, and the Changing of the Seasons describes love, lust, beytral, happiness, sadness, and even just everyday life in a way everyone can understand and relate to. I highly recommend this book to anyone. You won't be able to read it just once, this will become an addiction. Beginning to end of a love affair in sonnet form?!! (0/0 people found this helpful)One of my favorite books of poetry ever. No matter the gender of my lover, this is the book I read when things are going great...and when they fall apart. Sexy, deep, and gorgeous language. I'm always grateful she's around. Stepping carefully through old relations (0/0 people found this helpful)Marilyn Hacker through her poetry describes her life with her lover, both in New York and Paris. She, being older, talks about insecurities and the torture of being away from the one you love. From the first meeting to the phone call goodbye, Marilyn describes the appropriate lust over another person. This poetry is amazing.
