Reader Reviews:Hard to explain (2/2 people found this helpful)Love Song is a collection of four shoujo stories written by Keiko Nishi, i have to say that it isn't the best of books i have read and i find the first and last story to be the worst while the two middle stories i find excellent almost apart from the fact that in most of the stories you get an unresolved happy ending and i love happy ever after ending. Not that it isn't a good book, i just think that for the prize of it is to expensive for what it is. The first story is about an abusive girlfriend and the trials of her new boyfriend to make her see that he will not hurt her while the last is off a girl dreaming of escaping colony life and turning down an average, well of man in the process. I didn't find these stories very interesting but thought the middle too were excellent. The second about greed and jealousy between sisters and the almost cruel twist at the end that makes you wanting more while the third has a young boy given the power to heal and is taken under wing by a man he meets one day and helps him turn from a zero to a hero. These two stories were amazingly enjoyable and had it not been for the other two and prize of the manga (yes i'm a cheapskate) then i would have rated this five stars. Looking for another side to Shojo Manga..try this! (3/3 people found this helpful)The first Manga book I ever bought was a collection of two of Keiko Nishi's earlier works, "Promise" and "Since you've been gone." I enjoyed these so went on to but the "Love Song" collection..and I wasn't disappointed. I'm fairly new to the Manga/ Anime genre - and Keiko Nishi's stories are very different to the other shojo mangas I read. I found her stories a little on the dark side, and you are really drawn in to them. They aren't your typical romances, they always have something else running through them. I found that Keiko Nishi's work really makes you THINK. If you want something different...I highly recommend this book! CategoriesAmazon.co.uk places this book into the following categories:
