Reader Reviews:You can call me Zimmy (1/2 people found this helpful)What can I tell you? It's a book that has Bob's lyrics from 1962-1985.It's a weighty old tome. It has a few pictures in that Bob scribbled down, seemingly with a crayon. It's also an astounding read. I'm going to readthis book to my children at night-times, once I find a woman who isn'trepulsed at the sight of me. An essential companion to a genius's work (8/10 people found this helpful)While now a little dated (only going up to 1985), this book is a vital document for anyone with an interest in the way a true master shapes his lyrics. As readable as a book of the finest poetry, the edition is furnished with not only an album-by-album presentation of Dylan's lyrics, but also with a range of other lyrics (out-takes etc), poems, liner notes, and a handful of line drawings by the man himself. Sensibly put together with a useful index (by title and by prominent lines), along with Dylan's 'Tarantula', this is what every Dylan fan should have by his side when the stereo gets switched off.
