Interesting book but missing detail (4/4 people found this helpful)
This is the 4th book I have read regarding the Rwandan genocide. The details of the genocide are both shocking and disturbing, so grit your teeth as you read this. The culprits who are interviewed in this book seem to view the genocide as a job easier than farming with greater rewards gotten by looting. Some are honest and open whilst others you suspect are more guarded with the truth, trying to describe their attrocities as bad, but not as bad as others.
The downside of the book was the lack of detail from the interviewees. This is probably not the fault of the author, but rather the perpetrators not wishing to divulge so much of their disgusting acts. There is harrowing stuff in here. The matter of fact way they went about their killing as if a job is extremely disturbing.
This book is a worthy contribution to book about genocide and will help you try to comprehand what the killer's mindset was.
