Reader Reviews:Perfect for teaching the basics and mid- levels (1/1 people found this helpful)I had dabbled in Dreamweaver a few years earlier but finally decided to learn webdesign properly since the internet seems to be a part of 99.9% of peoples lives. I chose Dreamweaver MX2004 Traing from the Source because it was a Macromedia Press title, this gave me confidence that at least the people who were responsible for the title will have looked through the exercises. I am very pleased to say that the pace of the book and it's ending complexity were perfect. It gace good indepth lessons on subjects like Table, Layers, CSS and the creation of Forms. The book was also enjoyable and made the subject matter interestinmg which some books I have looked at do not. To sum up the book dfor me was a good buy top class (3/7 people found this helpful)If you want to use Dreamweaver this is definateley the book to have. learn it all in a week. An easy to use reference manual (10/10 people found this helpful)Upon initial browsing of this book it seems to be very complete. It has 17 chapters, each consisting of a lesson and the instructions needed to complete these. There is a CD included and this contains the media neede to complete the lessons. I find it clearly written and the steps taken are very logical. It starts the learning process at the basics, setting up Dreamweaver and then moving on to starting your webdevelopment. All in all I am happy I have purchased this. Im a competent webuser and although new to creating large websites, this book took me from a basic knowlegde through to an advanced level. A thorough guide (13/14 people found this helpful)A thorough guide to the product, but very dull to follow. You feel they have very efficiently divided up the funtionality of Dreamweaver and detailed the development of a website carefully using each feature. That said, it still somehow seems to lack soul. They teach you feature by feature, not by looking at what you need to do and then introducing the relevant features. Matched my needs perfectly... (10/12 people found this helpful)Well what can I say, When I purchsed this I was unaware of what lessons that would be involved.. It turns out to be the most perfect set of tutorials ever ranging from simple upgrades to XHTML and to building a complete registration site. Cannot rate this book highly enough.. If you ever wanted to make a members only site this is the book that will give you the tools to do it!! MAD!!!!!!!
