This is the best Flash book that I've purchased. It is written in a user-friendly style with excellent games and ideas that can be easily adapted.
I would recommend this to anyone wishing to learn Actionscript. Top quality. I used the previous version to begin learning Actionscript and found it a marvellous springboard to learning some complex code.

iam 16 and wanted to learn some action script in flash i have a fairly basic knowledge of flash and can make simple animations but when i read this book it was fun and i found it explained the code very well i enjoyed learning the code and making the games iam going on to make more games in flash thanks to the help of this book.
I dont no if it helped but i do do some programming knowledge in c++ and visual basic
overall GREAT BOOK recomended for users with a basic knowledge of flash or any other programming language.

I'm a student with some knowledge of Actionscript who wanted to buy a book to help me learn how to code games in flash. I was hopeful that this book would be ideal, and to some extent it was, but I found the the authors way of scripting was more complicated than it needed to be, meaning that it was difficult to change the existing code in any way. Overall an interesting book but more for those starting off in Actionscript.

I'm a designer and I tend to find the coding part a little boring... But with this book you are able to learn actionscript in a fun way, simply because you make games! The explanations behind the coding are fairly easy to understand, with tips and tricks along the way.
A good book if you want to really get into actionscripting - even though you don't know much about it in advance.
