2/5 stars

boring (5/5 people found this helpful)

OK there is a fair amount covered in adequate detail, but without good explanation or ease of reading.

The presentation is very basic and no background or general overview on terminology or concepts is given.

Essentially IMHO this book may be useful for someone already familiar with such applications (preferably Logic!) and looking for a reference for some of the more commonly used technical functions available in Logic. It's not much good for beginners who want to learn Logic from the top down.

Needs updating! (8/8 people found this helpful)

Having spent many frustrating hours trying to learn Logic using nothing but the Windows help I decided to buy this book. The book is well laid out. Explanations are simple and there are ample diagrams showing how things are done. However the book is in desperate need of updating. If you use Logic version 5 or better then you will find that probably no more than half of the book is useful. Techniques such as creating a mixer in the environment are now built into Logic by default. It is definitely worth reading though users may find the bundled manual more informative.

Buy this book it will be the best £20 you have ever spent (4/8 people found this helpful)

After a couple of days of frustrating toil with the reference manual that came with Logic Audio, supressing the need to throw my computer out of the window, I bought this book.

Wow! what a difference. In no time at all I was up and running and my studio worked again. I come from a background of Cubase v2 on the atari, so that is pretty damn good if you ask me.

If it wasn't for this book, I would still be getting nowhere. buy it, but it, but it!

Easy to use guide written in a methodical way (10/10 people found this helpful)

I have had Logic audio Platinum for about 6 months and thought I could use it pretty well. Until I got this book!! Full of tips and tricks to make recording quicker and easier. Covers all sections of Logic including the Environment window which I now finally understand. Like the manual but much much better. Love it
