Reader Reviews:Maldives by Royston Ellis (5/5 people found this helpful)I visited Maldives while staying in Sri Lanka and I found this book a wonderful guide to the islands. After reading it I felt I knew the Maldives intimatley and when I visited there I found that Royston Ellis, the author, gave a great introduction to the country. The Maldives is not an easy place to travel around because there is no regular ferry service connecting the 200 inhabited islands. The only way to get to the 80-plus resort islands is via the airport where hotel boats and sea planes transport visitors. This book is essential for the visitor, not only as a guide to the best value resorts, but also as a handbook with all there is to know about these little-known islands, including the village islands that tourists rarely visit.
