Reader Reviews:A wonderful book of recipes (0/0 people found this helpful)I have tried several recipes from this book and the end result have always been scrumptious. My family's firm favourite at the minute is the carrot cake.
Delicious (1/1 people found this helpful)I have made several of the recipes in this book and all have been delicious, i particularly like the section on Traybakes, which as a mum is perfect for school teas and birthdays, i have had lots of compliments from the results of this book and am always recommending it to others. The Bible!! (1/1 people found this helpful)I've loved this book - it turned me into a confirmed cake baker! It's simply written, the recipes are pretty easy to follow and I've had a go and more than half of them with only a couple of disappointments. I'm about to buy two more copies for friends who are inspired by tasting my cakes (v. flattering) to try making their own, they'll soon realise it's not me - it's Mary Berry! Excellent! (2/2 people found this helpful)The recipes that I have tried from this book have never failed. I make the fairy cakes, and the two different types of brownies quite often. The effort involved is minimal with these resipes and the results are always spectacular! It is a good book for a beginner as the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Simply Brilliant (9/9 people found this helpful)I can't cook or bake so I'm not sure if that makes me the best or the worst critic for a cook book. However, my Mum is a brilliant cook but not so great baking. She visited my Aunt and borrowed this book from her. The book has never been returned and I have bought my own copy. Basically what I'm trying to say is that these recipes are foolproof (and thats straight from this fools mouth!). If you do as she says you get a professional looking (and more importantly..tasting) result. I'm back here today to see which other MAry Berry book I'll try next.
