I found this book to be ponderous, drawn out and at times plain boring. I have read a multitude of philosophy literature and would have to place this in the very bottom tier. Some analogies in the book were so verbose that I repeatedly broke down in tears. However I am not a man to give up so easily, I pressed on despite the immense physical and emotional hardships endured.
If you wish to avoid such pain and suffering try Maslin, a refreshing dip in the pool of philosophy.

Great book - very readable, accessible - very thorough, lucid text broken up with illustrations/pictures which make reading it a breeze and put ideas into context - highly recommended
