Reader Reviews:Excellent tutor for all ages. (32/32 people found this helpful)I started learning piano 30 years ago using Fanny Waterman tutors. She's always been the base by which other teachers are judged. Now I'm well advanced, but my daughter has just started her journey to proficiency. This tutor is used by her teacher - and I've been extremely impressed by her progress. My wife soon picked up the book herself and within no time got to grips with the basic concepts of reading music and playing. Now I can't ever get onto my own piano! After 40 years teaching, Waterman knows how to introduce new concepts at exactly the right time. The tunes she uses to teach are already familiar to children, so pupils can use what they already knows as a reference to learn even more. Simple accompaniments are provided for a parent to make practice time even more fun. As an experienced pianist (and some time teacher) myself, I thoroughly recommend this tutor. I'll soon be ordering the second book in the series for my duaghter and wife to fight over.
