Reader Reviews:Fantastic (3/4 people found this helpful)I bought this book last week and I love it. It is filled with all the stories of how Mick got his interest in archaeology and is a really usefull and fun book to have.
Micks Archaeology (6/6 people found this helpful)If you like Time Team and enjoy a passing interest in archeology then you will enjoy this book , there are lots of pictures and he explains what his obsession is with Monastries . You dont learn much about him as a person ie it is not an autobiography but you learn how he became interested in archaeology . I also have found useful the 'further reading 'section in the book . Interesting and accessible, but too short (23/24 people found this helpful)This is a good brief introduction to some Mick Aston's (of Time Team) archaeological interests. The first few chapters are autobiographical, the rest explain a bit more about his specific interests, for example the archaeology of buildings. The tone is kept light and accessible, and makes you want to find out more about some of the things he talks about (there's a good bibliography for further reading). The only thing I can say against the book is that it's too short, and therefore quite expensive for what you get.
