Reader Reviews:This is the book for OO with .NET 2.0 (0/0 people found this helpful)This is an excellent book and I highly recommend it, its is fairly concise and has is fantastic introduction into proper development into C# 2005. The book takes you through developing with Visual Studio 2005 using OO. If you want to become a proper develper with OO this is a fairly good book for it. The only down side is the the database examples are poor and are open to SQL injection attacks (not good). A very good introduction to C# (2/2 people found this helpful)I bought this book hoping it would do what it said on the cover and I was not disappointed.
Benchmark (11/11 people found this helpful)I bought this book as a c++ programmer interested in learning c#. It is one of the few programming books I own, which is truely complete in the sense that you need to have read nothing else but this book to get on with the programming. This book is very clear, goes into enough depth to give you a good understanding, but not too deep as to bog you down, is interesting to learn from and is very, very well written. This sort of writing style should be a benchmark for all programming books rather than the usual ambiguity which is all too common in other texts. If you don't know anything about programming and want to learn c#, get this book. If you are already a programmer and want to learn c#, get this book. Great start to C# (20/22 people found this helpful)I liked the tone of the writing and the layout: side boxes which serve to highlight, tips, or important notes. A lot of the examples provided by the author serve to illustrate concepts really well. I found the end of chapter "Quick Reference" sections useful, as a practical summary of the topics covered in that chapter.
