Reader Reviews:old faithful (7/8 people found this helpful)An excellent cookbook. I love cooking and have quite a collection of cook books. This one is a personal favourite (alongside Constance Spry!). The food is exquisite. The instructions are clear and concise with illustrations at each stage. In addition each recipe includes information about making the dish in advance, storage, whether (and at which stage) it can be frozen and whether it can be microwaved. No quick reference for preparation and cooking time so you'd have to read the text to work that out, but many of the recipes are quick and easy. No mention of calorie counts either but frankly when food tastes like this, who cares? This is the book I dig out for dinner parties when I want to impress friends. So far, everyone who has eaten a dish made from it has loved it, no exceptions.
