My little brother devoured this book. It says something that it managed to distract him from his Xbox for the length of it!
It's a story that most little boys will find thoroughly engaging, and the illustrations from Mr. Blake are excellent as ever. A thoroughly good choice.

Hats off to David Walliams - this story is beautifully written. A tender, humourous look at the twists and turns of life and how first appearances can be deceptive, this is a book that should be popular with parents and children alike. Walliams deals with his subject extremely sensitively but also allows his sense of humour to shine through. The characters are well fleshed out and whilst Mr Stink may have stunk the book certainly doesn't!

This is a very entertaining book, I have bought it for my Son but he is a bit young for it yet and I can't wait to read it aloud to him.

Lucy thought it was a very funny and enjoyable book so much so that she bought it for her friends for their birthdays so that they could enjoy it as much as she did.

David Walliams impersonates Roald Dahl to great effect even recruiting Quentin Blake to provide the illustrations.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and was often found chuckling to myself.
The characterisation is wonderful, and the writing does not insult the intelligence.
A great read for adults as well as children.
