Reader Reviews:

5/5 stars

Brilliant TOGS read (7/10 people found this helpful)

I can't put the book down, the prologue had me laughing, the rest of the book is a brilliant read. Terry just lets people know how life was and is for him which makes it such a good read for all togs. It is just as good as listening to the man himself. It had me glued.

A TOGS Treat (14/20 people found this helpful)

As a newly registered TOG with my novel, Pets in Prospect, mentioned on his radio show, what could I do but grab Terry's Tome off the bookshelf. Thank my lucky stars I did. Like the twinkle in his eyes, it's a sparkling read. His Irish lilt lifts off the page, spit and all. If you're a fan, you'll breeze through this book.

A book to brighten your dullest days! (31/32 people found this helpful)

My goodness how nice to read a biography from some one older than 21, our Terry as usual exhumes the same warmth and humour as he always has and I would buy this genuine mans books every five years. A good read and one I had to keep reading and one that kept my mouth turned upwards. Don't want to make our Terry blush but he is a national treasure who probably can do no wrong in a lot of people's eyes A must read entertaining, funny, witty and absorbing.

Bit of a grumble (5/5 people found this helpful)

The first autobiography was enjoyable and as with that I wanted to hear this one read by the dulcit tones of the lad himself.
As with the first there is much to enjoy and we are brought up to date and get to enjoy some funny annecdotes and by and large things are kept pretty light and airy.
The one grumble is that there is perhaps one or two grumbles too many from Sir Tel. Now I know that this is his biog. and if he wants to have a whinge or 2 he is perfectly entitled to but it does seem that occasionally he does, well, go on a bit.
I wonder if this may be a result of the editing of the book to fit it onto 3 discs, maybe the book itself doesn't come over in the same way.
Either way this is not to say that this is not worth getting as there is still much to enjoy and for the most part this is a funny and interesting chat from one of the best broadcasters ever to grace a microphone.

Just as good second time around... (22/24 people found this helpful)

Yes it maybe only a mere five years since his first tome but it is just as enjoyable, if not more so. More insight on all things Eurovision and his days at Radio 2 along with his faithful TOGS, TWITS et al
A walk down memory lane in places although sadly no mentuion of the infamous Carshalton duck pond...
