This is a superb book - all the instructions are so easy to follow - tells you every little step so you can't go wrong. The photos are all so clear and show you exactly what to aim for which helps a great deal. I've made the racing car and the party animal and they looked so brilliant you can't quite believe what you've achieved!

This is a really wonderful book which I keep borrowing from the library. Now I am going to treat myself to my own copy. The instructions for making the figures are very easy to follow and it is simple to alter them to suit a different theme for your cake. For an enthusiastic novelty cake maker this book is a must.

What I like of this book are the variations Carol gives for most cakes in order to simplify work for the less eperienced ones of us! Also the tools used are ordinary things you already can find in your kitchen. Figure modelling is made easy and the use of edible writing pens help enourmously to make different facial expression which are very funny. There is a special section at the back which explains more in detail how to make figures and animals, and also a troubleshooting section. Excellent book for both beginner and more advanced cake decorator.

I am a complete NOVICE, but, with the guidelines of this book, I am getting orders!
Honestly, I can bake a cake, but decorating is a different matter, and with the guidlines of this book, I am building my confidence, and building orders...
Step by step instructions are easily followed by those who have never even made a cake.
I now have TWO books by this Author, and she is brilliant.
I can guarentee at least one order a month now....

This book is amazing, I bought when I first started doing a cake decorating course and I found it really easy to follow and the cakes look fab when finished. It has a good choice of different cakes to choose from and everything is explained with ease Carol Deacon is a inspiration.
