Clear, concise and very focused presentation of Ethnic Art (5/7 people found this helpful)
A thick 3 language hard back volume compiling Island art ranging form ritual art through to costume art. Very clearly laid out with each set of pages showing a well photographed subject piece, description and text in 3 column format. 1 in English, 1 in German and 1 in French. This is the sort of book that needs undivided attention, partly due to its subject and partly due to its size. It is also a good source of inspiration and a good reference and design base for artists and anthropologists alike. No doubt it will also have a cult carry over appeal to Modern Primitives and others interested in the origins of ethnic so called "primitive" art; Primitive being in the sense of pre-modern not in the sense of evolutionarily primitive.
