Update for Peter (0/0 people found this helpful)Peter,
Thanks for the great review. The two tips to get a continual juggle is to
a. practise starting with alternate hands - ie don't get into the habit of starting with the same hand and
b. Add one extra pass at a time ie count 1-2-3 then 1-2-3-4. Stop or drop the balls after the extra one.
Once you have the confidence in the small extra steps, you will find the continual juggle quite natural.
Happy Juggling

It is very difficult to learn a skill from a book but the illustrations go a long way towards remedying this. There is only one line that will upset those who claim it is too difficult to become a good juggler and that is" We hesitate to use the word " skill" as the basic three- ball cascade is about as difficult to learn as tying shoelaces and can be taught to young and old alike."
Yet the enjoyment from this uncomplicated activity is without doubt out of all proportion to the level of difficulty.
Needless to say I have still not be able to master the three ball cascade as set out in the illustrations. I can juggle three balls but I have to pause between each cascade. I would love to be able to do it continuously.
I tested the juggling theory on the ladies in my office as I took the view that women can usually juggle as they play with balls against walls when they are young in the playground. Most of them make the basic mistake of reverting to the two ball shuffle where you throw from one hand to the other and then shuffle the second ball to your first hand.
I had terrible problems explaining to people that was not juggling as it is easy to do. I say you have to learn proper circus juggling whereby you keep the balls in front of you and you appear just to touch the ball to keep them moving.
I took it up as a form of brain training as although I am left handed my left hand would not function if I sent the balls up from my right hand.
They explain that you should start with your weak hand in my case my left hand and then it gets easier. I am at least 200% better than when I started readying the book. It is however just a lot of practice.
I had a set of sacks which are good for juggling as they do not bounce. I now have soft balls and I bought some heavier bouncing balls but I have not mastered bouncing them off the floor as you need the right surface.
Most of us would be overjoyed if we could just master the three ball cascade but this excellent book goes on to clubs, four balls, five balls ,devil sticks, the diabolo and fire products including knives.
This is an outstanding book and you could turn it in to a life's work just learning the routines.
When I practice my three ball cascade I remind myself that it is as easy as tying a shoe lace. Maybe when I was young I thought it was very difficult but like all skills practice makes perfect.
I like the advice on three three ball cascade or how to juggle they do not recommend juggling any of the following
1 tennis balls
2 fruit of any description
3 eggs
4 china or glass objects.
As they say once you have mastered balls they are impressive but a solid weight looking club spinning and whirling through the air is vastly more so.
My ambition is to juggle swords and maybe fiery sticks. I will let you know if this is as easy as tying shoes laces. Similar Products
