What a wonderful book this is: a tough, fearless girl and her even tougher mum in a tale of derring-do on the high seas. The illustrations are gorgeous, and the story has lovely little subtexts to entertain the adult readers (who do you think Molly's dad is, for example?). Buy it for girls and boys alike.

This book must be the first book I've ever read that a girl defeats so men.It's shocking really that no other lady writer can be bothered!!!
I highly recomend all of Cornelia Funke's stories!!
