Can't really write a review of the book as it arrived with pages 17-32 missing (for a beginner, the most important pages).
They hadnt been ripped out or anything, just looked like they hadnt been included in the print/binding process.

Richie Gajate-Garcia teaches the following percussion instruments in this book: Bongos, cowbell (or handbell), maracas, guiro, the clave, cabasa, triangle, shaker, tamborie and caxixi.
With regard to the bongos he teaches the martillo (the flesh and bones of bongo playing) together with the following styles: salsa, pop, R & B, funk, rock, jazz, and a few more.
He teaches you the basics of reading music.
Accompanied by two CDs. No 1 offers an audio reference for what is explained in the book and allows you to practise "with Ritchie". The second disc has play-along tracks.
Great for beginners and intermediate players. Simple to follow and well thought out. Would recommend it to anyone who is prepared to work at being proficient with latin percussion. But it takes hard work, the book won't in itself make you play well -that's down to you.
