This is a lovely book for any child even if they are not familiar with Max & Ruby. My daughter is a big fan and it is great that I can now buy her books containing her favourite characters. What is most wonderful, is that we can read it together. With simple sentences made up of words and pictures, I read the words and she reads the pictures and it works beautifully. I also like the fact that it sneakily involves counting...very cunning! It is the perfect way of introducing her into reading and recognising numbers, as she also enjoys taking it to bed and looking at it on her own. One thing is for sure, I will be buying more in the same series.
