366 inspirational poems from around the world, old favourites and new discoveries, one for each day of the year - poems chosen for their reasonance, magic, and ease of learning, and placed on dates of the year, mostly according to season or in commemoration of an event or on the birthday or deathday of the poet. Lovely book for lovers of poetry, a selection of best loved and less familiar poems from "The Song of Solomon" to the 20th Century, every poem has been chosen to compliment each day.

A Perfect Compilation for Every Day of the Year ! (7/8 people found this helpful)

What a marvellous idea ! A different poem for every day of the year. All the classic poets are here, along with a number of lesser known, but no less effective poets. Somehow you can always find a poem to match your mood.

this is a perfect anthology. (17/17 people found this helpful)

If you love poetry, or if it has never meant a thing to you, either way there will be something in this anthology that will brighten your days. poets ranging from medieval "anon" to the present day; poems from afew lines to 2 or 3 pages; funny poems, thoughtful poems, poignant poems -- they are all here, and more besides. Arranged to match the calendar, each day becomes a delight. there is also background information on the poet and/or the circumstances of the poem's composition, plus notes of other key events which took place on that day. It's my favourite anthology, I find myself dipping into it all the time -- and somehow, whatever my mood , I can find a poem to suit. It's wonderful, I love it.

A popular easily learnable poem for each day of the year. (5/5 people found this helpful)

Who would have thought that I would write a review about a poetry book... Well here it si this a wonderful collection of poems, one for each day of the year. If you love poetry or have generally ignored it there is here many a poem for you. I commute about 50 mins a day and it is great to occaisionally make myself learn a poem. If like me you were never required to do such a thing at school then you may be in for a delightful suprise. The ability to sing someone elses thoughts and use their words just at the right moment in the day is very powreful.
