This textbook is very useful in breaking down the elements of poetry in a way that is easy to understand, useful and entertaining. It includes examples of some of the finest poems ever written to highlight the different conventions of poetry. I had to buy this book for my degree research and found it helped my understanding and knowledge of poetry as well as increasing my love for the subject. On a side note, this book was written by two of my lecturers who are very nice indeed!
