Reader Reviews:Hippocrene Concise Dictionary - Quite poor (3/3 people found this helpful)When first using this dictionary, and talking to a native speaker, I quickly found that many of the translations are to an out dated form of Polish. I found the phonetics of limited use, since Polish does not have phonetic irregularities, one can quickly learn to read Polish. The problem is correct pronounciation, the phonetic guide and a back is not too bad, but you will find the same coarse guide to pronunciation in any good phrase book. Therefore I recommend a phrase book if you are a holidaymaker new to Polish. Or if you are seriously learning to spend a little more and buy a dictionary with irregular grammatical conjugations, which you will find much more useful in the longer term.
