It's great. I have sold hundreds for you! (0/0 people found this helpful)

I teach English as a foreign language, mostly to Polish students. I was given one by a Polish student. I took it into class and it just took off from there. It's great in a classroom because if there is a problem you have a picture to show them. They love this book. My only criticism is that from my point of view there is no pronunciation guide. Oh there is another - please do one in Bulgarian!

The ploish find this useful (0/0 people found this helpful)

I bought this for a Polish plumber I work with. All his mates than asked me to get them one so I ordered 5 more - what higher recommendation can you get?

Good but not brilliant (0/0 people found this helpful)

bought it as a Xmas present for my English friend and to be honest its not brilliant. Photos used to describe some word don't show Poland at all.. in example food, emergency services. The biggest downside in my opinion is missing phonetic list of polish letters. We have quite a few different ones and its impossible to read polish word in English way.

A good reference guide (0/0 people found this helpful)

A good reference tool for those only looking for "words" rather than full sentences / grammer (but then again it is a "dictionary"). That said there are some useful phrases also included. It is also very useful having pictures for easy reference and being constructed in themed chapteres . . . although I would suggest that you familiorise yourself with what is included in each otherwise your conversation can suddenly die when you have to refer to the idex at teh back.

There is no significant assistence with pronouciation as with some other books I have seen so I have had to write these in as I learnt them.

For a pocket refernce book I highly rate this and would definatly recommend it.

Polish English visual bilingual dictionary (DK dictionaries) (0/0 people found this helpful)

I'm an ESOL teacher and my Polish students love this dictionary. They have ALL the words they could ever need at their fingertips (even the 'rude' ones on the detailed pictures of the human body!). The pictures are all clear and the layout is easy to follow. Now we need a Lithuanian one.
