I bought this book to improve my synth programing. It s usefull as a learning tool. The book is in different chapters and there is training at the end of each chapter. So you may practise on your synth. I have no education in music at all, I started programing synth three years ago, and I found this book very usefull.

This book is ok, if you don't know anything about Envelopes, Modulation and the rest of the synthesis realm. However, it contains no practical tips on using the parameters, it just explains what they are without going into too much detail. I'm not impressed as i know there are books out there that either detail the parameters in much more depth, and/or offer practical advice on using them! If you consider yourself as a complete beginner then maybe this book is for you, but still there are far better books out there. If you know anything about Synths and Synthesis, don't waste your money! Maybe i'm being harsh because i'm a Music Technology student, but i read lots of books on the subject and this really isn't one of the better ones!!!
