If you only want to see exactly the same sights as everybody else, it's fine. It won't help you find your way round Holesovice (huge modern art gallery, technology museum, great views along and across the Vltava), Vysehrad (ancient fortress, fantastic Art Deco church interior, great views across and along the Vltava) or many other very interesting and far less crowded places. It also won't help you find your way on the trams - the way to get about the city - it just does not have enough detail. It does not show the arcades and alleyways in the Old Town with their fascinating idiosyncracies and odd architectural and decorative gems.

You can buy a decent map for less than a pound from a Prague Information Service office or a tobacconist's kiosk. The information offices in the central metro stations have detailed transport maps, again for under a pound.

Yes, it is waterproof, but I use maps to find my way round. I wear a hat to keep my head dry. It may be only a few quid, but I am kicking myself for wasting the money.

An invaluable asset to anybody visiting Prague for the first time. It is waterproof and accurate and very informative.

I was disappointed in this map, as it covers only the centre of the city, a very small area. It is of use only to the most unadventurous tourist, and not even adequate for finding one's way back to accommodation if staying anywhere other than the very centre of the city. I found the flimsy map given away free at the hostel where I was staying proved much more detailed and useful. Admittedly, the Lonely Planet map is clear, is laminated for durability, and folds out easily, but it proved a waste of time carrying it as the maps in my guidbook (Rough Guide)were just as good for finding my way round central Prague.
On one occasion, the map proved to be missing important information, when I used it in the city centre and found that the exit for Starometska Metro station (about the busiest tourist stop in the city) isn't marked on it.
Overall, I was deeply dissatisfied with this map, and felt that the money I'd spent on it would have been better served by being put towards another guide book.

A very good guide to the city, a companion to the lonly planet guidebook. The main drawback is they are sold separately..This map is durable, waterproof and gives all the information you need to follow the guide book.
